Confidence is a journey that is not learned overnight, but with time can be greatly improved through ritual, self love and self care.
Rituals are something that I do on a regular basis to improve confidence. Here are a few examples. When I wake up, I make sure to have a morning skin routine. My skin has been a huge barrier in keeping me from being more confident and therefore in order to gain confidence, I make sure to take care of my skin so that I can be acne free and feel amazing. The lesson: If there is something holding you back, create a ritual or routine around it and improve it. The only thing holding you back, is you. Another ritual includes the first hour of my day. Before answering emails or responding social media, I make an almond milk cappuccino, I write down three things that I am grateful for and I look through my planner to prepare for the day. The lesson: Avoiding email and social media for the first hour of the day will ensure that you are not starting your day with anxiety or disorganization. Get settled in, feel prepared for the day and then jump in. The more organized you are, the easier your day will flow, making you feel confident and energized.
Body confidence is a topic that I have struggled with most of my life, but there are a few things that I have done recently in the past year to help improve the way I view my body.
If you have issues with your body, here are a few things that you must know to begin: "Normal" is an opinion, not a fact. Whatever negative thing you are thinking about yourself, someone else would like to have what you have. The most beautiful thing about women is that we are all different and it is literally the sexiest thing on the planet. You are a goddess, you are so unique and you deserve to live a life, free of body hate.
A Plan If you genuinely would like to change your weight, there are subtle things that you can start with that do not involve a crossfit gym or keto diet.
"Diet culture is not fun and I have never found it good for my mental health. Over the past year, I have created my own way of maintaining a healthy weight and it has seriously changed the way I view my body. " -Jenna Moayedi
For example, I tend to weave in good habits with time. I go by the month and add goals. For July, my goal is to work out 5 days a week (I built this up with time), I do a mix of yoga, spin, light weights and walking. I never do a workout that I don't enjoy. I eat a massive serving of vegetables with every meal. During july, all my meals will have a serving of vegetables. I do not cut out carbs, but I do my best to eat smart carbs (complex carbs) , no white flour or processed foods (for the most part).
What works the best is to not have tempting foods in your home. If watermelon is your only source of sugar, that is what you will have for dessert instead of ice cream. There are many methods of keeping a healthy weight long term that will improve your mental well being. Self care is taking care of you first and not allowing the noise of what "other people are doing" to cloud your judgement.
Being confident in your career has to do with balance, endless education and providing constant value. My team does not work for me, I work for them. As a leader, I am constantly learning from them and outside sources to make sure that they have everything they need. That is providing value. In any industry, any position, the key is to learn more, reach for more, ask questions and that will give you the confidence you need to get to the next level. I am constantly learning new skills through entrepreneur podcasts or skillshare so that I can educate my team and build them up so they can go to the next place in their career. I also establish healthy boundaries so that I put my self care at the forefront. My team knows to not contact me after a certain time. Healthy boundaries equals a healthy life because you are able to shut off, refresh and then get back to the grid. Confidence in your career comes from giving it all you've got and watching that success come to life.
I could write on this topic for days on end, but I hope this brought you a few useful tips to start your self love journey!
