How to be intentional with your self care habits

In a time where many things are uncertain, I want to help everyone gain back control by setting an intentional self care routine that can be carried into the future, when you return to your busy schedule.

  • A Flexible List There is something sexy about having a flexible list. The reason I say flexible is because I want to emphasize how important it is to pivot, when necessary. Make a list of everything that you would like to get done that day. Make it achievable. Do not stress yourself out over unachievable tasks. Create a list with your top priorities at the beginning and lower at the bottom. This list helps ease my anxiety by a long shot! Part of the reason why we are anxious is because we know we have things that can be done, but we are not prioritising or doing them in general.

  • "Me Time" Taking 30 minutes a day will establish healthy boundaries with yourself. My favorite "me time" activity is to take a 30 min bath with a great podcast episode, a glass of pinot noir or la croix in hand and an Indigo Aura Sage + Citrus candle to calm my anxiety. I also practice yoga 3-4 times a week to keep my mind sharp, and to release the bad toxins from my body. Staying active plays a crucial role in our mental health. But ultimately, how you spend your "me time" is completely up to what make you feel most at ease and connected to yourself.

  • Strive for healthy relationships this is the moment to really take a step back and look at the people in your life that give you energy, strength and love, vs those who heighten your anxiety and depression. Make an effort to speak with someone you love per day to lift you up. Calling my friends and family daily and seeing them on facetime makes my heart full. I have also taken the time to learn more about my husband and spend the quality time with him that we don't normally have without serious effort. Even when all of this craziness ends, make the time to be around those you love. Human interaction is necessary in practicing self care. It all correlates.

  • Achieve new goals and shift your life plans if necessary so you lost your job, might lose your job or have a job that you are not passionate about? The gift of time is a blessing! This is your opportunity to step back and look at what you really want to do and start it! So many things can be done with the power of the internet and social media. The world needs what you have to offer. Starting is the hardest part. But what if you start, never stop, and it becomes magical. Why not take that risk?
